GDC Lecture now online!

The lecture I gave at GDC EU 2011 is now up here:

It is one of three lectures that were put up (so far) and it is 100% free for you to watch :)

  1. Fantastic stuff Thomas, wish it was longer!

  2. Great :D

So, there are two kind of games:

    - games that focus on presenting us with artificial challenges to beat, and

    - games that focus on tricking us into believing we have this dramatic, super-hard, uber-challenging experience, with threats and situations that we are able to overcome, when really the game is just (role-)playing along with us.

  3. Where did you find the video clip of Amnesia you used in the the lecture? I'm also going to give a lecture about Amnesia: the Dark Decent and would like to use the clip for it.

  4. very nice ! I like this blog !!

  5. I loved this a lot. You are very enthusiastic, it totally rubs off. I also liked the way you answered all the questions at the end. I think you managed to catch some blatant misconceptions "wouldn't games become movies" etc. So well done!
