ReplyDeleteSo, there are two kind of games:
- games that focus on presenting us with artificial challenges to beat, and
- games that focus on tricking us into believing we have this dramatic, super-hard, uber-challenging experience, with threats and situations that we are able to overcome, when really the game is just (role-)playing along with us.
Where did you find the video clip of Amnesia you used in the the lecture? I'm also going to give a lecture about Amnesia: the Dark Decent and would like to use the clip for it.

I loved this a lot. You are very enthusiastic, it totally rubs off. I also liked the way you answered all the questions at the end. I think you managed to catch some blatant misconceptions "wouldn't games become movies" etc. So well done!
