I've always thought in terms of competition 1v1 or team sports, this skill set of really understanding or disseminating someone's mental models is something you need to be thinking of as an athlete or professional because it will allow you to out play your opponent or in a none competitive environment create something that is better or more refined. <br />Specifically in competition most choices are a series of constructed guesses, where it looks like someone can predict or tell the future, when in reality it's really good guessing based on experience, but if you have really good cognitive empathy your guessing becomes even more accurate.
